March 30th is set aside every year to assist a grateful nation in thanking and honoring our Vietnam Veterans. This year we are also noting the 50th commemoration of the Vietnam War. Together with a dedicated group of Vietnam Veterans a committee has been formed to develop this event.

"Remembering Our Fallen" was created in November 2010 by Bill and Evonne Williams of Omaha. Their eternal hope is to honor the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, to provide comfort to friends and family of the fallen, and to remind others of the tremendous cost paid by some.

Interested in the culinary arts? Obtain industry certification with successful
completion of a food-handlers test. Get started with a course open to veterans and their families.
Funding may be available to offset costs.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors recognizes individuals who have served in the United States Armed Services at the weekly board meeting.

Through a grant made possible by Coca-Cola and the National Recreation & Park Association, the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation & Parks is NOW HIRING military veterans with instructing experience at the high school, collegiate, and/or professional level in one or more of the following areas:Aerobics, Aquatics, Boot Camp, Dance, Hiking, Nutrition, Self Defense, Yoga, or any other related physical fitness or nutritional instruction.
Over 100 companies will provide employment opportunities in industries such as aerospace, manufacturing, health care, technology, entertainment, construction, hospitality and many others. In addition, over 60 organizations will offer employment services and resources for veteran business owners and entrepreneurs.

Homeless Services- VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System
The VA of Greater Los Angeles is hosting a series of connect days
to provide crucial services to ensure no man or woman who has
served our Country is sleeping on the streets of Los Angeles or in
a shelter with their family. Supported by United Way of Greater
Los Angeles and leading community partners, including
government, volunteers, non-profits, businesses, social service
providers, and faith-based organizations, connect days will offer
homeless individuals and their families access to housing benefits
in a single point of entry.
In memory of Ernest T. Hamilton, Jr., who was a former Veteran and
Commissioner of the Commission on Disabilities, the Commission extended
the Ernest T. Hamilton, Jr. Memorial Scholarship to veterans with disabilities
who want to pursue a higher education.
