About this Event:
The City of Pasadena invites the community to join its annual Veterans Day Celebration, honoring the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Presented by the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department in partnership with the Pasadena Veterans Committee, this year’s program carries special significance as the City also celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.
The event will include a Yellow Ribbon Ceremony honoring the 2D Battalion 23D Marine Corps Regiment, recently returned from overseas deployment. Adopted by Pasadena in 2013, these local heroes will be recognized with a moving tribute accompanied by the Pasadena Scottish Pipes and Drums.
Program Highlights:
- Master of Ceremonies: Former Mayor William Paparian, Captain (CA) Judge Advocate, California State Guard, and Deputy District Attorney, Los Angeles County
- Keynote Speaker: Associate Justice Eileen Moore, decorated Vietnam combat nurse and life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America
- Flyover by the Condor Squadron at 11:11 a.m.
- Free hot dogs, interactive exhibits, and family activities
