Manuel Gomez is a dedicated social worker, nonprofit leader, and doctoral student with over a decade of experience in veteran advocacy. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served from 2005 to 2011 aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and the USS Peleliu. His years of service ignited a lifelong commitment to empowering veterans, particularly those navigating the challenges of reentry following justice involvement.

 

Throughout his career, Manuel has excelled in nonprofit administration and grant writing, securing millions in funding for local nonprofits and government agencies. His expertise has enabled these organizations to build sustainable, high-impact programs for veterans, addressing essential needs such as housing, mental health, reentry support, and benefits access. His work has driven organizational growth and adaptability, ensuring veterans receive the comprehensive support necessary for their success.

 

In addition to his nonprofit achievements, Manuel brings a wealth of knowledge from his time at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he deepened his understanding of veteran services and advocacy. As a certified peer specialist, he combines professional training with personal insights, creating an approach that emphasizes empathy and resilience. His doctoral studies further enhance his work, as he brings academic research and innovative thinking to develop programs and policies that serve justice-involved veterans effectively.

 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Manuel is a devoted husband and father of five. Alongside his wife, who shares his commitment to service, he finds purpose in supporting veterans and building stronger communities.
