Millions of people across California and around the world will participate in the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill on Oct. 15, practicing what to do when an earthquake strikes.
At 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, participants are encouraged to practice Drop, Cover, and Hold On, the recommended earthquake safety action. Individuals, families, schools, workplaces and organizations can participate wherever they are.

Encourage others to participate
Hold your earthquake drill at 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 15
Those unable to participate at the scheduled time can register and conduct a ShakeOut drill on another day or at another time.
The Great California ShakeOut provides an opportunity to practice earthquake safety before an emergency happens and review how you and those around you would respond during an earthquake.
